For community nonprofits, civic groups and associations

One volunteer list for every program you run

Cleanups, tutoring, festivals, senior visits: community organizations rarely do just one thing. VolunteerFlow gives every program its own events and roster while keeping one shared list of the people who show up for your community.

Recruiting

Turn website visitors into volunteers

Most new volunteers find you online. Give them a clear place to see what is open and a simple way to apply.

  • A public opportunity board that lists your open events, with search, categories and an optional map
  • Embed the board on your own website
  • A custom application form shared by link; applicants do not need an account
  • Your volunteer portal at yourorg.volunteerflow.us, with your colors and design on Flow and Impact
  • Opt in to our public Organizations directory with your name, logo, description and website

Visitors apply through your application form before they can sign up for shifts, so you can approve new people first.

Running many programs

Each program gets its own space, not its own spreadsheet

Programs

Group events, volunteers and hours by the work they support.

  • A manager and volunteer roster per program
  • Event and hour totals for each program
  • Filter hours and activity by program

Plans: Flow and Impact.

Events for every kind of program

One-day festivals and weekly commitments on the same calendar.

  • Events with shifts and capacity, plus repeating events and series sign-up
  • Event visibility limited to volunteers with certain tags, when a program is invite-only
  • Volunteers add shifts to Google, Outlook or Apple Calendar

Plans: All plans.

Bring people back

Keep first-time volunteers from becoming one-time volunteers.

  • Automatic thank-you emails after every shift
  • Hour, event and anniversary milestones, plus custom badges (Flow and Impact)
  • Retention analytics that show how each group of new volunteers keeps coming back (Flow and Impact)

Plans: Thank-you emails on all plans.

Listen and update

Hear from volunteers and keep them informed.

  • Surveys with a public link, sent automatically after an event to everyone who checked in
  • Portal announcements
  • Email now or on a schedule, with reusable templates (all plans)

Plans: Surveys and announcements on Flow and Impact.

Less manual follow-up

Let the routine work happen on its own

Workflow automation is on every plan: 2 workflows on Launch, 25 on Flow and unlimited on Impact. A few examples:

Common questions

Questions we hear from community organizations

Can people find our volunteer opportunities from our website?

Yes. Turn on the public opportunity board in settings and link to it or embed it on your website. Visitors can browse open events and apply through your application form.

We run very different programs. Can each one stay separate?

On Flow and Impact, each program has its own manager, volunteer roster and event and hour totals, while everyone stays in one shared volunteer list. On every plan you can also use tags to limit who sees an event.

Can we use our own web address?

Every organization gets a yourorg.volunteerflow.us address. Using your own domain and removing VolunteerFlow branding are on the Impact plan.

Is there a limit on volunteers or events?

No. Every plan includes unlimited volunteers and events. Plans differ in features and the number of staff logins.

Can we move our current volunteer list in?

Yes. Import volunteers from CSV or Excel, review possible duplicates before anything is saved, and bring over past events. Importing past hours is on Flow and Impact.
