For volunteer fire, EMS, CERT and search and rescue

Know who is qualified before the shift starts

Volunteer emergency teams run on certifications, training hours and coverage. VolunteerFlow tracks every credential and expiry date, keeps training on schedule and stops a volunteer from signing up for an event they are not qualified for.

Clear boundaries

What VolunteerFlow does not do

VolunteerFlow manages your volunteers. It does not run your emergency response.

No dispatch or paging

It does not receive calls, page members or track who is responding to an emergency. Keep your dispatch and paging tools for that.

No run or incident reporting to agencies

The incident log is for volunteer safety incidents, not for fire or EMS run reports.

Certifications need staff verification

Cards volunteers upload are unverified until staff check them, and enforcement only counts verified or staff-added certifications.

Common questions

Questions we hear from emergency services

Can VolunteerFlow stop someone from signing up without a current certification?

Yes, on the Impact plan. Mark the certifications an event requires, and volunteers who lack one, have not had it verified, or whose certification expires before the event cannot sign up. Staff can still add someone with an override after a warning.

Do volunteers get reminded before a certification expires?

Yes, on Flow and Impact. VolunteerFlow sends reminder emails ahead of the expiry date, and staff can send a reminder by hand at any time.

Can training count toward a certification?

Yes. Group training courses into a module and link the module to a certification type. When a volunteer finishes the module, the certification is added to their record, ready for staff to verify.

Is VolunteerFlow a dispatch or call-out system?

No. It manages volunteers, scheduling, training and records. It does not receive emergency calls, page members or track live responses.

Which plan do most emergency teams need?

Certification tracking starts on Flow. Blocking sign-ups for unqualified volunteers, direct background checks, multiple stations and the audit log are on Impact, which is why the trial on this page starts on Impact.
